Trickle Down is Working!
Finally, some good news! Yah. It seems, the bust of the U.S. economy is actually BUSTING MEXICO. Who said trickle-down economics doesn't work! I know...I know...I can hardly contain myself. If it wasn't for the shot of Jose Cuervo I just gulped...I'd probably hyper-ventilate.
With USA in a recession, rural Mexico feels the pain
PACULA, Mexico — Not long ago, this remote Mexican mountain town was in the middle of a construction boom — as families proudly built their American-style dream homes, using cash sent home by relatives working in the USA.
Work on those houses has stopped, leaving shiny steel rebar jutting awkwardly out of concrete walls all over this town of 4,500. Meanwhile, residents have been forced to cut back on staples such as rice and corn. Eggs, meat and milk are now out of reach for many families.
Across Mexico, desperation is increasing among the millions of families who depend on money sent home by relatives in the United States. Those money transfers suffered an unprecedented drop in May, falling 20% — to $1.9 billion — compared to the previous year, according to the Bank of Mexico. That's because the recession has left many migrants unable to find jobs in the USA, especially in construction.
Awwwww....cry me a Rio Grande River. Our unemployment here in America is reaching 10 percent...and down in Ole Me-hi-co...new housing development has stopped because all the so- called migrants....wait a second- migrants? (really...nice euphemism there liberals) have stopped sending PESOS.
So the illegals aliens/Mexican citizens not U.S. citizens/illegal immigrants/undocumented workers/lawbreakers/criminals have stopped propping up rural Mexico. Gee...that's a crying sombrero shame. Hey...I know- maybe the SOCIALIST Mexican government can step in.
Better yet, ask Hugo Chavez or Castro or any one of those Leftwing South American governments (eg. Bolivia, Peru, Venezuela) for a Mexican hand-out.
I mean c'mon! Hugo is for the poor man...the hungry...the homeless! Let him provide for Mexico. The United States has done it for the last 100 years....let him do it for the next 100.
